Earth Day – A discussion with children of Boge and Kamice

One of the most engaging campaigns that marked the month of April was a celebration of the Earth Day organized by VIS Albania, with the collaboration of the project NaturAL and Regional Administration of Protected Areas of Shkodër.

The activity took place in Boge, Shkodra with the children of Boga and Kamica. The children were presented with the natural values of the region and some of the protected areas, introduced with the flag species and discussed about the importance of the ecosystems.

The Earth Day offered a great opportunity for everyone involved to underline the nature blessings we can count on and to point out how we can reduce the impact our everyday activities have on nature.

Children were also informed about the Junior Ranger Program, as an opportunity to explore protected areas of their region, to contribute to reducing their impact on nature, and to feel the responsibility as future fauna and flora defenders.

At the end of the day children were engaged through a few educative games and they saw a demonstration of ways to reuse plastic or glass.
